Red River Obedience Training Club is a non-profit club. Our membership is as diverse as our training interests, with members active in Obedience, Conformation, Agility, Hunting, Herding, Tracking and Therapy Dogs. The goal of our club is to encourage interest in training of the purebred dog. Club membership is limited to those persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and are interested in canine obedience training.
RROTC meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the club’s facility at 108 Battle Street, Shreveport. Visitors are always welcome!

We are an active community-service-minded membership, and as such, we request all members to participate in some way. Examples of possible participation:

Types of Membership
Single Membership
Any person 18 years or older. Entitles that person to all the privileges of the club and to one vote at any meeting of the membership at which he is present. Dues are currently $35 per year*. |
Family Membership
Includes a spouse and any children under the age of 18. Entitles the family to all privileges of the club and each spouse one vote at any meeting of the membership at which they are present. Dues are currently $40 per year*. |
Honorary Membership
Granted by the club to persons whom the club wishes to honor and entitles that person to all privileges of the club except those of voting and holding office. |
Application Process
1. To be eligible for membership in the club, all persons must be of good moral character and be in good standing with the American Kennel Club.
2. Applicant must attend two meetings or functions of the club; completed a class with us or have completed an AKC obedience title prior to submitting an application. Applicant may petition the Membership Committee for waiver of requirements on an individual basis.
3. Dues are $35 for an individual $40 for a family. Dues each by October 1st. Application must be signed by a sponsor. It then appears in the club newsletter.
4. Members may transfer from single to family membership by completing a new application and paying the difference between single and family membership dues.
5. Applicant agrees not to raise or breed puppies for sale to pet shops or commercial outlets.
6. If at any time an application is denied, the applicant may reapply after six months.
