Red River Obedience Training Club is a non-profit club. Our membership is as diverse as our training interests, with members active in Obedience, Conformation, Agility, Hunting, Herding, Tracking and Therapy Dogs. The goal of our club is to encourage interest in training of the purebred dog. Club membership is limited to those persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and are interested in canine obedience training.

RROTC meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the club’s facility at 108 Battle Street, Shreveport. Visitors are always welcome!

Benefits of Membership

  • 50% off all classes
  • Members-only Wednesday evening practice — for new dog trainers, this is a great way to work with your dog and get feedback from our experienced members in a casual setting.
  • Option to keep a crate at our training facility

Expectations of Members

We are an active community-service-minded membership, and as such, we request all members to participate in some way. Examples of possible participation:

  • Teaching or assisting with one of our classes (no experience or titles are necessary to assist with a class)
  • Participating in one of our community events, such as the Barkus and Meaux Parade or Responsible Dog Ownership Day
  • Providing a service to the club, such as helping with the website, maintaining the garden, etc.
  • Helping with show-and-gos
  • Stewarding at our annual dog trial

We also encourage all members to attend monthly meetings.
